TEACHING, private piano & music production lessons

private piano & music production lessons

As a passionate musician and educator, I am thrilled to offer top-quality piano lessons and music production lessons (online or in-person) to a limited number of students this semester. I offer personalized and engaging lessons to students of all levels and all ages. Whether you're a beginner, a music lover, or an aspiring musician, I can help you achieve your musical goals and improve your skills.

LESSON CONTENT

My teaching approach is centred around finger technique, musical expression, and music theory. I strive to create a well-rounded musical experience for my students, and always make sure they are learning effectively. My lessons are tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual student, helping them to develop their musical skills and reach as much of their potential as possible.

  • Personalized lessons that help you improve your skills.
  • In-depth focus on music theory to enhance your overall understanding of music.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs.
  • Online or in-person options for convenience and comfort.
  • Inspiring lessons that help you progress in your musical journey.

END GOALS

Besides the obvious of teaching you how to play songs and pieces, the larger end-goal as a piano teacher is to help you become a self-sufficient musician. That means:

KNOWLEDGE

Equipping you with all of the necessary knowledge so that you can play any sheet music you read, as well as basic chord markings.

AWARENESS

Improvisation + compositional ideas that will expand your musical understanding, and teach you how to create better melodies and harmonies.

APPLICATION

Understanding how the piano can be used as a tool to understanding music, and consequently be able to make music (FL Studios).

DURATION & PRICING

I run lessons that range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes, 1 to 3 times a week depending on your situation. 45 minutes seem to be the most common duration as from personal experience, 30 minutes is too short (very good for adolescents though) and 60 minutes are for adults who have that concentration span and nack for knowledge.

EDUCATION

My background in piano consists of high-level education in classical piano, jazz piano, music theory, and chamber music. Furthermore, I'm studying film music and game music as an expansion to my repertoire of musical skills. My education journey begins at Espoo Music Institute where I studied for 12 years, and then moves on to Sibelius Academy where I'm currently majoring in classical piano performance.

SIBELIUS ACADEMY

University of Arts

In 2021, I was one of 6 pianists accepted into Sibelius Academy to study Classical Piano Performance Master's Degree Program. It was an arduous journey, but I cherish it every time I look back. As Sibelius Academy stands to be one of the top performing arts universities not only Europe, but also in the world; I take full pride in learning as much as I can, and applying that to anything I can.

Currently, I'm studying a large variety of courses that include: classical piano, 3 different music theory courses, keyboard harmonization, music history, piano and general pedagogy (how to teach), free jazz improvisation, and film & game music production. I enjoy many classes that teach me so much, and particularly piano pedagogy and film & game music production holds the largest activity from me; so much so that I have received recommendations from both my pedagogy professor and music technology professor.

Sibelius Academy Entrance Exam Videos

Quite many people have had an interest in seeing my entrance exam material, so below I have linked a google drive folder that has 6 of my pieces that I had to play for the entrance exam.

The repertoire that I performed consisted of the following:
